80’s Tribute
Kick up the 80’s are not just another tribute band. Kick up the 80’s lived through the 80’s. This was a time when Playstations and XBoxes would not have even been thought of. Atari was the kingpin of video games at the start of the 80s. If you wanted to play video games this would mean a trip to your local arcade, or to a games room in a pub. Ranking top of the list on Space Invaders or Pac Man in your local boozer was something to aspire too. Times are different now with most homes having some sort of games console.
Early Games Consoles
The first home games consoles were released in the 70’s. However there was very few people lucky enough to own one of these systems. Due to the poor quality of the games on the market it was seen by most as just a fad. It was a company called Famicom that was later renamed to Nintendo that really got the ball rolling. It was The Nintendo Entertainment System or NES as we know it now. That brought gaming to the home. This was first released in Japan in 1983. It was not released in Europe though until September 1986. This sold 61.91 million units world wide. To date the Playstation 2 is the best selling games console ever selling 155 million. Playstation 2 was released in 2000.
